L&T Technology Services (LTTS) on Thursday inaugurated its first Engineering Intelligence Centre of Excellence in Europe, marking a strategic expansion of the company’s AI-led engineering services push as enterprises increasingly move from experimental AI deployments to industrial-scale implementation.

Located in Munich, Germany, the new AI CoE is expected to serve clients across the mobility, sustainability, and technology sectors, while strengthening LTTS’s presence in one of Europe’s largest industrial ecosystems. We will focus on deploying AI-driven engineering solutions across intelligent manufacturing, software-defined products, predictive operations, and connected engineering platforms.

The move comes as engineering and R&D service providers sharpen their focus on embedding artificial intelligence across product design and industrial systems. Companies are increasingly integrating technologies such as generative AI, agentic AI, multimodal AI and edge intelligence into engineering workflows to improve operational efficiency and reduce time-to-market.

LTTS said the Munich center forms part of its broader Engineering Intelligence (EI) strategy, aimed at combining domain expertise with AI capabilities to build intelligent products, autonomous operations and next-generation manufacturing systems.

“LTTS’ first EI Centre of Excellence in our Munich design centre is a milestone as it brings our deep-tech and EI-based solutions closer to clients’ R&D hubs across the region,” Amit Chadha, chief executive officer and managing director of LTTS, said in a statement. “The centre will act as a focal point for innovation, R&D and new product development, redefining how products, platforms and manufacturing are engineered and optimised in the AI era.”

The company said the centre will function as a collaborative innovation hub and deepen partnerships with customers, academia and the broader Indo-German technology ecosystem. LTTS currently serves more than 60 clients in Europe and employs over 4,500 engineers supporting the region.

The launch also reflects LTTS’ growing focus on applied AI and intellectual property development. The company said it has filed over 237 patents in AI and generative AI in FY26, positioning AI-led engineering services as a key growth area.

The engineering services company has been expanding its footprint across sectors such as industrial products, mobility and digital manufacturing, as enterprises look to integrate AI into core engineering functions rather than deploy standalone tools. Industry analysts expect Europe to emerge as a key market for industrial AI adoption as manufacturers increasingly invest in software-defined systems and intelligent automation.

The Munich announcement comes shortly after LTTS reported its fourth-quarter results, where the company indicated improving momentum in large deals and sustained demand across mobility and technology verticals despite a volatile macro environment.
