ScienceLogic Inc., a Virginia, US-based software and services provider, said on Wednesday it has tied up with HCL Technologies Ltd to share its automation engine SL1 for the Indian IT services company’s artificial intelligence-based projects.

The partnership will help HCL’s AI products development division, DRYiCE, to get consistent and contextual operational data in real time so that AI engines can be built faster. This will lead to quicker deployment of projects and, in turn, will enable faster digital transformation of HCL’s customers.

Currently, collecting consistent and clean data is a challenge because most companies use hybrid cloud infrastructures, leading to data fragmentation.

“By leveraging artificial intelligence, machine learning and automation we intend to consistently deliver quality services and insights to our customers. SL1 will help accelerate those capabilities,” said Kalyan Kumar, chief technology officer at HCL Technologies.

ScienceLogic’s SL1 provides automated real-time discovery and synchronization across both application and infrastructure architectures, integrating with new and existing ecosystem components, the company said in a statement.

It can also help populate configuration database management with timely and accurate data from a clean data lake. A configuration management database is a data repository that acts as a data warehouse or inventory for information technology installations.

“This drives higher quality machine learning and enables AI-based operations and processes to greatly alleviate the burden on IT operations personnel,” said Dave Link, CEO and founder of ScienceLogic.

HCL, like many other Indian IT services companies, has been ramping up its capabilities in emerging technologies such as AI and Internet of Things. Last week, HCL said it had opened two IoT labs, in Seattle and Noida, to help companies collaborate over IoT solutions. Called IoT Collab, each centre will let Fortune 500 companies bring together tech experts, partners, financial advisers and other stakeholders to take advantage of what is expected to be a $1 trillion market by 2021, the company said.

Also, the company released an artificial intelligence-based automation testing platform for communication service providers, where they can assess their service offerings swiftly and in a less expensive manner.

In May, HCL Technologies had said it was joining the Blockchain in Transport Alliance, a group of more than 200 companies examining how best to use the digital ledger technology behind bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies in the transport industry.
