Cloud-based telephony services firm Exotel Techcom Pvt. Ltd has rolled out machine learning-based Heartbeat API (application programming interface) in beta, which gives enterprises real-time updates on telecom network availability and strength.
Bengaluru-based Exotel, which processes more than six million cloud calls a day, creates a virtual number in real time to mask the phone numbers of customers and agents of enterprises. Heartbeat API will help to monitor the health of these virtual numbers in real time and predict call drops or high traffic on a specific route or in a specific telecom circle.
The product is free for all Exotel customers for now. "The idea is to make this available to individuals at a later stage," Shivakumar Ganesan, co-founder and chief executive of Exotel told TechCircle.
Exotel, which counts on customers like Uber, Flipkart, Lazada, Practo, GoJek and Ola, was so far giving only diagnostic reports on the downtime the enterprises faced. Downtime is the time during which a machine, especially a computer, is out of action or unavailable for use. According to Exotel, the verticals most affected by downtimes are cab aggregators, marketplaces and last-mile delivery.
Founded in 2011, Exotel has expanded its presence in South-east Asia and boasts a 2,500-strong customer base. The company, whose last funding was in 2012, had reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 4.3 crore for the financial year ended March 2017.
Exotel competes with Knowlarity, Ozonetel and MyOperator.
