Software services provider Tech Mahindra Ltd said it is launching an enterprise edition of an open source artificial intelligence (AI) platform named GAIA.

The platform will be powered by Acumos, a project developed by The Linux Foundation, Tech Mahindra said in a statement.

Acumos AI is a platform and open source framework that makes it easy to build, share and deploy AI apps. It standardizes the infrastructure stack and components required to run an out-of-the-box general AI environment. This frees data scientists and model trainers to focus on their core competencies.

The company also said that GAiA will provide support to enterprises in adopting open source AI platform offerings to implement custom use cases, models and integration services.

GAIA will be available for commercial purpose and will support open source distribution as well, Tech Mahindra said. It added that various industry solutions and the existing marketplace in GAiA will be enriched through collaboration with academia, third-party Machine Learning developers and companies.

Manish Vyas, president of the communications, media and entertainment business and CEO of network services at Tech Mahindra, said that the company is committed to leveraging next-generation technologies like AI to solve real business problems of its customers.
