Netherlands-based connectivity solutions provider NXP Semiconductors has signed a deal with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) to improve enterprise supply chain operations by harnessing TCS’ cognitive automation product ignio and its private cloud.

NXP provides connectivity and technology infrastructure solutions for embedded applications, smart vehicles and data privacy, according to a statement issued by TCS today.

ignio automates and optimises IT operations with its cognitive capability that combines artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning and other advanced resources borne of software engineering, the  statement added. The platform of ignio uses its reasoning capability booted with context-awareness for problem-solving and anticipate incidents.

The Dutch technology solutions provider will also use the TCS private cloud on alpha architecture to automate NXP’s supply chain operations.

“TCS has been NXP’s partner of choice for enterprise IT and has played a critical role in enabling our strategic programs like mergers and acquisitions,” Olli Hyyppa, Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer, NXP Semiconductors, said.  “We strongly believe that AI-based technologies driver a smarter world and want to use them in our internal applications. TCS’ ignio is a key component that will enable intelligent supply chain operations.”

Speaking on the technology collaboration, V Rajanna, global head, technology business unit at TCS, said, “NXP and TCS have established a great partnership spanning over a decade. We are very glad to be a part of such a critical business transformation initiative, which establishes the foundation for NXP to become a future-proof digital enterprise by simplifying and standardising the supply chain IT landscape and significantly boosting business velocity.”
