Luxury car maker Mercedes Benz has partnered with smart parking technology startup Get My Parking to provide better parking experience to its customers. The technology will assist end-users in searching and navigating to an available parking lot.

The startup on Monday announced the collaboration with Mercedes-Benz Research and Development India (MBRDI), which seeks to address the challenge posed by lack of accurate information and limited parking space.

“As pioneers of smart parking in India, we always wanted to help urban citizens to have a hassle free parking experience. That mission is accelerated by this collaboration with Mercedes-Benz India wherein their car users can access detailed data on relevant parking lots across multiple interfaces. This partnership highlights our role as the bridge between the parking and mobility industry,” Rasik Pansare, co-founder, Get My Parking, said in a statement.

The Delhi-based startup has deployed its Indian parking data inside the Mercedes cars on the touchscreen dashboard as well as their Mercedes Me Connect mobile apps. Get My Parking claims to have a comprehensive digital data of 9,000 parking lots in over 50 cities of India. This data capability lets motorists discover relevant parking as per their criteria.

MBDRI, under its flagship Startup Autobahn India programme, has been working with the IoT-driven digital parking platform, embedding this feature into all Mercedes-Benz cars equipped with Mercedes Me Connect, a digital link between the car and the end-user introduced in October 2019.

Founded in 2015 by Chirag Jain and Rasik Pansare with a vision to make every parking transaction a sub-conscious experience. Its key investors include IAN, Beenext, The Chennai Angels, and Hero Corporate Services chairman Sunil Munjal. The startup won the Geospatial Excellence Award at the GeoSmart India 2019 summit for pioneering effort in geo-mapping & digitising parking data.
