Bengaluru-based Gmail-centric SaaS startup Hiver on Friday announced that it has appointed Kumar Shailove as the vice president of engineering.
Shailove, a statement said, will work closely with founders Niraj Ranjan Rout and Nitesh Nandy, and focus on scaling the company’s technology team.
With over 16 years of work experience, Shailove has worked for technology companies such as InMobi, Digital Guardian, Expedia and Adobe.
At InMobi, he oversaw the engineering team that built the company’s demand side platform, defining the medium and long-term tech strategy and roadmap for the organisation while working with technology partners to co-build solutions for complex business problems.
He also led the development of a high-scale distributed ad serving and bidding platform to process 1 million ad requests per second and more than 10 terrabytes of data.
“Kumar (Shailove) brings to the table a high level of expertise in development, management, and maintenance of highly scalable systems. His expertise will be extremely valuable to us as we continue to grow faster and fulfill our vision to help businesses deliver great customer service using Gmail,” Hiver co-founder Rout said.
Shailove, who holds a master’s and a bachelor’s degree in computer science from the University of Allahabad, has served as an engineering manager at Digital Guardian.
Hiver recently raised $4 million in a debt funding round from Mars Growth Capital, a Singapore-based joint debt fund launched by MUFG Bank -- Mitsubishi UFJ Financial’s core banking unit -- and Liquidity Capital.
