In the social media sector, Twitter is trending for all the wrong reasons as it finds itself at the receiving end of criticism by minister for Information Technology Ravi Shankar Prasad as well as a parliamentary standing committee on IT for non-compliance with intermediary guidelines which came into effect in May. 

In other news, the top three Indian IT-ITeS companies Infosys, Wipro TCS saw the cumulative salaries of its CEOs jump 47% year-on-year to $17.6 million for the financial year 2020-21. This is a result of the continued demand for digital transformation by companies globally, driving business for these firms.  

Among technology firms, Accenture made two acquisitions and one strategic investment this week, while LTI acquired Cuelogic Technologies.
