The week (March 16-22, 2024) saw several CXO movements in the tech industry with some of the major appointments in key business positions. Wipro appoints Capco’s new CEO

IT services company Wipro has announced the appointment of Anne-Marie Rowland as chief executive officer (CEO) of Capco, a financial services management consultancy, was acquired by Wipro in 2021. She is being elevated from managing partner of Capco’s business in the United Kingdom and Ireland. Rowland takes over this role from Lance Levy who will now transition to a strategic advisor role to both Capco and Wipro’s overall consulting strategy. Rowland will report to Wipro’s CEO Thierry Delaporte and will become a member of Wipro’s Executive Committee (WEC). Rowland has been working with Capco for close to 15 years and served in different roles including global head of Capco’s Consulting and Transformation practice, Global Client Partner for several large financial institutions, and executive sponsor of Women@Capco. NetApp ropes in former Pure Storage exec as CHRO

US-based technology company NetApp announced the appointment of Alessandra Yockelson as Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) on Tuesday. Yockelson will report to CEO George Kurian. Yockelson joins the company with decades of experience and expertise in leading global talent organizations, driving operational excellence, and fostering cultures of performance and accountability. In this role, she will lead all aspects of people and organizational strategy, including talent development and growth, performance management, team engagement, recruiting, Diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) and compensation and benefits. In her most recent role before joining NetApp, Yockelson worked with Pure Storage, where she served as Chief Human Resources Officer since August 2021 and led organizational change efforts that resulted in global performance scaling. She also held leadership roles at Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Diageo, and Philips. (Read more)

Lupin appoints its first chief technical operations officer

Pharmaceutical company Lupin announced the appointment of Christoph Funke as the chief technical operations officer on Monday. Funke is the first hire for the newly created post and will oversee the company’s technical operations functions, integrating manufacturing, supply chain, and procurement. He will be based in Mumbai. He has 30 years of global pharmaceutical manufacturing, supply chain, and technical operations experience. In the past, Funke has held leadership roles at organisations such as Fresenius Kabi and Strides Pharma Science, managing large-scale technical operations and manufacturing networks across 27 sites in 19 countries, overseeing production value exceeding $2 billion and leading teams of over 12,500 employees. His last held role was that of chief operations officer at Bengaluru-based Strides Pharma Science Limited. Funke is an alum of South Westphalia University of Applied Sciences. (Read more)

TransUnion elevates Debasis Panda as SVP for global ops

US-based credit bureau TransUnion on Monday appointed Debasis Panda as the senior vice president, global operations. He will be responsible for leading the company’s global capability centers (GCC) in In Costa Rica and South Africa, adding to his existing portfolio as the head of four GCCs in India (Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad and Pune). In the new role, he will be responsible for the distributed network of GCCs in six centers across three continents with over 4,000 employees. Panda has over three decades of experience in IT services in global leadership roles. He has set up GCCs, development centers, and managed global delivery. He is an alum of National Institute of Technology (NIT), Rourkela and Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar. (Read more)
