TelioLabs names former Oracle executive Piyush Sarwal as technology and AI chief

Deep-tech and digital engineering firm TelioLabs has appointed former Oracle Communications executive Piyush Sarwal as its Chief Technology & AI Officer, as the deep-tech services company sharpens its focus on artificial intelligence and enterprise automation platforms.

The New Delhi-headquartered firm provides AI, telecom, cloud, IoT, BFSI and digital transformation solutions to enterprises across global markets.

Sarwal will lead the company's global technology strategy and oversee the development of TelioQuantAI, TelioLabs' enterprise AI and automation platform, as the firm seeks to expand its AI-led offerings across industries, including telecom, banking and financial services, cloud computing and digital transformation.

Based in Dallas, Texas, Sarwal will head technology operations across Asia, the US, the UK, Europe, the Middle East and other key international markets, the company said on Tuesday.

The appointment comes at a time when technology services firms are increasing investments in AI-driven products and platforms amid rising enterprise demand for generative AI, predictive analytics and intelligent automation solutions.

Sarwal brings more than 27 years of experience in the telecommunications and IT sectors. Most recently, he served as Vice President of Product Strategy & Architecture at Oracle Communications between 2020 and 2024, where he led initiatives spanning cloud-native transformation, software-as-a-service (SaaS) adoption and AI/ML-based product development.

Before Oracle, he spent nearly 14 years at IBM, where he held the dual roles of Chief Technology Officer and Distinguished Engineer. During his tenure, he worked with telecommunications service providers globally on OSS/BSS transformation projects and communications infrastructure modernisation initiatives.

At TelioLabs, Sarwal will be responsible for product strategy, platform architecture and technology roadmap development, with a particular focus on scaling the company's AI capabilities and strengthening the TelioQuantAI platform.

Sarwal holds a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from the National Institute of Technology, Karnataka and a master's degree in Electrical Engineering from Southern Illinois University, US.
