HCLTech partners Volkswagen Group-backed e.solutions to build next-gen vehicle software

IT services major HCLTech has secured a multi-year strategic partnership with Germany-based automotive software company e.solutions GmbH, a subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, to develop next-generation software-defined infotainment and connectivity platforms for connected vehicles.
Under the agreement, HCLTech will support the development, integration and validation of production-grade human-machine interface (HMI) software for multiple vehicle programmes. The partnership will focus on scaling AI-enabled infotainment and connectivity platforms built on Android Automotive, as automakers accelerate investments in software-defined vehicles and digital cockpit technologies.
The financial details of the deal were not disclosed.

The engagement comes amid growing demand for connected and software-driven in-vehicle experiences, with automotive manufacturers increasingly relying on technology partners to develop advanced infotainment systems, connectivity services and digital interfaces across vehicle models and markets.
"At e.solutions, we are continuously pushing the boundaries of connected mobility and digital cockpit innovation," said Uwe Reder. "Our partnership with HCLTech enables us to scale HMI software development across diverse vehicle programs while maintaining the highest standards of quality, consistency and user experience."
HCLTech said it will leverage its automotive engineering expertise and AI-driven software development capabilities to help e.solutions accelerate the delivery of infotainment platforms across global markets.

"By combining AI-driven engineering and a deep understanding of the automotive sector, we will empower e.solutions to accelerate and develop world-class infotainment platforms," said Pankaj Tagra.
The deal strengthens HCLTech's presence in the automotive software engineering segment, a market that is witnessing rising investments as vehicle manufacturers shift toward software-defined architectures, over-the-air updates, connected services and AI-powered digital experiences. It also reinforces the company's long-standing relationship with European automotive customers, particularly in Germany, one of the world's largest automotive technology hubs.
e.solutions develops software for infotainment, communication and connectivity systems used in vehicles across the Volkswagen Group ecosystem, helping automakers deliver integrated digital experiences to drivers and passengers.
