MG Motor India today kicked off the third season of its annual innovation programme- MG Developer Program & Grant Program (MGDP), an initiative through which the company partners with startups to promote innovation in the automotive space.
The car maker said that this year’s programme is based on the theme “Car as a Platform” (CaaP), a future of mobility concept that makes cars safer and smarter.
“We believe CaaP has the potential to redefine mobility. Therefore, in MG Developer Program & Grant 3.0 we are inviting all industry stakeholders to contribute towards developing this revolutionary concept,” said Rajeev Chaba, president and managing director, MG Motor India.
The company claimed that it has invited startups, developers and individuals under three categories: utility (location tracking, GPS navigation, search, payment), security (car and driver analytics) and entertainment (games, music) for participating in the event.
So far, MG Motor has supported over 100 startups since its inception in 2017.
The carmaker signed six startups under the first edition of MG Developer Program and Grant in 2020. The startups are Highway Delite, Socialcore, InCabEx, CamCom, ClearQuote, and the Alexa-based project Meeseeks.
