Collaboration is the way forward

This proves that businesses and governments must pursue a comprehensive strategy, to accelerate AI readiness. First, the formulation and implementation of national AI strategies are crucial to provide a clear vision and direction for AI development. Second, adopting a risk-based approach to AI regulation and ensuring harmonisation with existing rules can strike a balance between innovation and safety. Third, prioritising responsible AI and ethics is essential to navigating the ethical implications of AI technologies. Fourth, efforts to bolster AI talent through education and training programs are vital for building a skilled workforce. Lastly, harnessing AI for both societal and economic benefit, coupled with effective education campaigns, can maximise the potential of AI to drive positive change across various sectors. India’s approach to regulating artificial intelligence has been commendable and could potentially set guide-rails for the global AI industry. The current approach to regulation leaves sufficient room for innovation empowering the industry to flourish. With the profound potential of generative AI and India's commitment towards AI-driven innovation, we have a unique opportunity to become the global leader in AI.
