Switzerland-based Evalueserve, a knowledge process outsourcing (KPO) company with operations in India, China, Chile and Romania, has signed a deal with Tokyo-based cybersecurity solutions provider Trend Micro Inc for advanced security solutions

Trend will replace the Swiss firm’s security arrangements designed for agent-based protection of physical hardware, an official statement from Evalueserve said today.

Deep Security, Trend Micro’s data protection solution that services data environments, were deployed across Evalueserve’s server network and virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) machines. Trend Micro’s Apex One solution (formerly known as OfficeScan), Scanmail Protection for Microsoft Exchange, Interscan Messaging Security Appliance (IMSVA) and Apex Central (formerly Control Manager) will also be used to increase Evalueserve’s management capabilities, the release added.

Evalueserve had been on the lookout for security solutions that would be compatible with its existing VMware infrastructure and be capable of covering its employees in its offices based across the globe, the statement said. Trend Micro’s solutions are already integrated with VMware vShield Endpoint APIs to provide security that does away with the need of an agent. The KPO solutions provider’s move to a virtualised environment of late necessitated a security solution that would not hinder the  performance of its production environment, the statement added.

Speaking on the technology partnership, Nilesh Jain, vice president, Southeast Asia and India, Trend Micro, said, “Trend Micro solutions helped Evalueserve to automate manual tasks, and provide advanced reporting and central management. This improved efficiency paved the way for future expansion. It also reduced the number of threats from malware and spyware. The solutions rendered better control over Evalueserve’s IT environment and did not affect performance.”

“Trend Micro’s global partnership with VMware helps a lot and now all the latest versions of VMware are supported by Trend Micro Deep Security. There were no compatibility issues while deploying the solution,” Sachin Jain, chief information officer of Evalueserve, said.
