The week (November 4-10, 2023) was buzzing with several CXO movements in the tech industry with some of the major appointments in key business positions. IT services firms like Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Genpact and Hexaware made important new appointments, while non-tech firms like Prince Pipes and Fittings and Cars24 to lead its technology and digital affairs. Genpact names BK Kalra as new CEO, Tiger Tyagarajan to retire in Feb’24 

Genpact has announced that its president and CEO, NV 'Tiger' Tyagarajan, will retire in February 2024 and Balkrishan 'BK' Kalra has been appointed by the company's board to take over as the new CEO and will assume his new role and join the company's board.  Tyagarajan will, however, continue as a member of the board of directors. Kalra, who joined Genpact in 1999, currently serves as the global business leader for financial services and consumer and healthcare segments. With over 30 years of experience, He has helped companies grow from early stages to globally competitive enterprises and held various leadership positions at Genpact, leading the company's global transformation efforts across industries such as banking, capital markets, consumer goods, retail, life sciences, and healthcare. Tyagarajan, who became CEO in 2011, led Genpact through a period of significant growth. Under his leadership, the company transformed into an industry leader with annual revenue of over $4.3 billion in 2022. (Read more

Prince Pipes and Fittings appoints Keyur Desai as head of IT 

Keyur Desai has announced his transition from Essar Group, an Indian multinational company, and has taken on the role of Head of IT at Prince Pipes and Fittings, an PVC pipe manufacturer and polymer processor. Based in Mumbai, Desai will be reporting to the company's joint managing director. In his new role at Prince Pipes and Fittings, Desai's responsibilities include spearheading the digital transformation strategy for the organisation. This involves focusing on cloud initiatives, ERP, web and mobility applications, data analytics, and the IT infra framework. He will also oversee information security and governance while streamlining IT policies. (Read more

Gurgaon-based online used car marketplace Cars24 has announced the appointment of Deepak Gupta as its Vice President of Engineering. In this role, Gupta will drive technological innovation within the engineering division, aiming to improve performance delivery and the overall user experience for customers buying and selling used cars. Gupta has a career spanning over two decades in the technology and business domains and has been instrumental in developing extensive engineering platforms, adaptable and scalable websites, apps, and products that provide cutting-edge functionality and intelligence to end-users. Gupta holds a master's degree in advanced mathematics from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi and Master of Science (MS) in computer science from La Trobe University, Melbourne, Australia. Girish Pai is appointed as Hexaware’s data and AI service line head

Global IT service provider Hexaware has announced the appointment of Girish Pai as the global head of its data and artificial intelligence (AI) service line. Hexaware aims to leverage Pai’s extensive industry experience to drive innovation in the technology solutions space. Pai, an industry veteran, has an experience of 28 years, of working in domains like IT, digital strategy, and data and analytics. He has worked in companies like Tredence, Infosys, Idea Booth and Shopalyst. In his last role, he was the chief customer officer for Tredence. With Girish at the helm of a robust team committed to relentless innovation, Hexaware expects to make rapid strides toward data and AI leadership. (Read more

TCS appoints Elizabeth Mathew to lead diversity and leadership program 

TCS has appointed Elizabeth Mathew as the head of TCS LeaD taking over from. LeaD is TCS' internal program that promotes diversity and leadership at the senior level. Mathew has been with TCS since 1989 and held several HR leadership roles across business groups within the company. She takes over from Anant Haidale who, after a successful stint in HR, has moved to take up a leadership role in the Manufacturing Business Group. Mathew will have the responsibility of nurturing leadership talent, as well as overseeing diversity and inclusion initiatives within the organisation. Her appointment follows a streak of leadership changes made by CEO K Krithivasan since he took the helm at India's largest IT services company earlier this year. Head of diversity and inclusion Preeti D'Mello and Brinda R, head of leadership careers, will report to Mathew. (Read more
